My recollection is that many of the international market releases used the -410 boxes -- with sports titles dropping the license from the title -- and had localized manuals plastered on the back in the slots. The box image here is real. The front is basically what you see above -- but the back of the -410 boxes is the two-slot version. The manuals exist in many languages, of course. That box above is an obvious fake, as @mr_me noted. How did we all miss such an obvious discrepancy!

Just with a quick check -- not sure if there's a pattern to discern for whether both -810 and -410 versions exist. Perhaps Mattel's strategy changed. It appears the -810 boxes were for non-U.S. English-speaking markets. Someone realized that it would get pretty expensive to print unique boxes for every market, so the -410 line made more sense. Or maybe both were planned, but things didn't sell as well in those non-U.S. English-speaking markets, so they killed off the -810 line. Who knows. Who cares? :P

What do -810 and -410 mean?

Dude, you haven't done the homework!

-810 and -410 (as for -910 and -510) are serials of the boxes that indicate the market they were made for. The "territorial" serials are placed after the serial of the game.

For example: Checkers

Game serial: 1120

Box for the US market: 1120-910

Box for the Canadian market: 1120-510

Box for the International market: 1120-410

Box for the non-US English speaking market: 1120-810 (Draughts)

(all this information is clear on intvfunhouse, our Intellivision encyclopedia. Thank you one more time, Steve!!!)
