exxosuk
The "T board" 4MB SIMM kit would fit on that style board. http://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/last/4mb/index.htm
trecool
I have the exact motherboard rev and that 4mb kit works flowless, well hidden under the psu. Fast note, cut the ram chips and then unsolder the remaining pins as mentioned in instructions.
Neo-Rio
I don't mind desoldering the MMU to get the smaller 4MB unit. As for the shifter, I think it is socketed, but no big deal if it isn't. I have a lot of experience desoldering and socketing chips. The MMU looks like it could be tricky though. I don't know if it could be socketed. Opinions? Neo-Rio
Here's the ST post cleanup. Almost as clean as the XE keyboard (the keys always come up nice), although there is some lingering dirt and blotching remains on the ST case. That said, it's night and day better than when I first got it! I noticed that one of the screw joins on the top of the case has snapped (nearest the disk drive), and even post-supergluing it may need another look at. Now to upgrade this baby... although that will be some time off until I can afford it.
Android8675
As for hard disk support... roughly what percentage of games have been modified for Hard drive usage? ...or is gaming largely a disk based, or disk drive SD card emulated based pursuit? +DarkLord
I would have to say that there are plenty enough converted games that run from mass storage to justify the expense and effort needed to acquire such a device, IMHO.
Bikerbob
Thanks for the tips. How about upgrading the TOS in the STfm? What is the latest version you can install into one, and can I burn my own eeproms? I bought my own eproms, and I am buring a 6 chip set myself. I have the file now. A friend from the forum local to me has the burner. good times.. LOL James
Neo-Rio
Finally managed to get some ST floppies to try out on my ST yesterday. Turns out the floppy drive is dead. Nothing loads. I guess in addition to all the other mods I'm going to need a replacement floppy drive.
Swainy
Hi guys, sorry to bump an old thread but it seemed silly starting a new one. I've recently picked up 500STFM which I was hoping to upgrade the ram on. However I didn't realise how many different revisions there were. This is mine: I'm guessing that this revision is the harder version to add ram to?

Exxos calls your board the "Silly Style" ST board.
