Original Odyssey tv hookup question

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem I'm having with my original Odyssey. This is the original from 1972, a first run model. I'm having a hell of a time acquiring some sort of adapter for the end of the plug that goes into the tv. The end don't fit on new tvs obliviously, but I want to play it on my older set that I play all my classic consoles on via coaxial. I can get pics if it would help, I'll snag one from google and post it first lol. Any help would be awesome and greatly appreciated, I just don't want to take it apart or splice any wires.

Thank you,

John Pompa

Yep, you need the original RF box. The cable use this weird proprietary connector that you'll likely won't find anywhere else.

Maybe it would be possible to cut the wire and just replace the conenctor with a standard RF one, but who know what the RF box does?

You probably could, but why would you want to harm a beautiful machine?

Especially relevant in my case, where hooking up US machines on PAL TV is a hassle, but I more plan to solder a wire to tap the video signal before the RF box. This way the machine will stay original aside from two soldering points.

Before anyone goes snipping the plugs off their Odyssey cords, note that the other Odysseys--the 100, 200, etc--used the same weird connector. Maybe consider buying a (hopefully nonfunctional) Odyssey 300--the cheapest and most common of the Odysseys--and sacrificing the RF cord from that instead? It's black instead of brown, but if that doesn't bother you it should work perfectly.
