Tangentg
Hi, I've seen some roms for homebrew titles here and there for the Vectrex, but if I wanted to try them out on an emulator, would I also be able to get an overlay for the emulator? Honestly, I have only downloaded one homebrew title that's linked to me and I was quite disappointed that I can't play it with an overlay and that is the main reason I'm not downloading other Vectrex roms for the time being. Is there an overlay for emulators for Koko's Retribution (this is the one that was linked to me) and Vectrexians (assuming that you could download the latter for free, though I doubt it, and if you can't, then never mind). Thanks
hcmffm
Which Vectrex emulator did you try out? I recommend ParaJVE. ParaJVE comes with all the original Vectrex titles and overlays included and has various gimmicks like chassis display, zooming with mouse wheel, and vector glow. Download-Link is: http://www.vectrex.fr/ParaJVE/ If you are really keen, you can create an overlay yourself (e.g. for Koko's revenge) and use it in ParaJVE. A short description is here: http://vectorgaming.proboards.com/thread/330/parajve-overlays ... Is there an overlay for emulators for Koko's Retribution (this is the one that was linked to me) and Vectrexians (assuming that you could download the latter for free, though I doubt it, and if you can't, then never mind). Like with most emulators, you can run any binary with ParaJVE including Koko's Retribution and Vectrexians Demo. The Vectrexians Demo is an incomplete demo version of Vectrexians, it's o.k. to get an idea of the game; if you like the game you really should buy the Vectrexians from Kristof Tuts original which comes with a box, overlay, and manual. http://kristofsnewvectrexgames.comli.com/Before ordering Vectrexians make sure you have a look at Vector Pilot which is another excellent game of Kristof Tuts. Tangentg
Right. I do use ParaJVE. I just meant whether the two games had any digital overlays that you could download (and if so, how one would get it to work with the emulator). I suppose not though? Well thanks. 50TBRD
Neither have digital overlays as far as I know. You can purchase the Vectrexians overlay though.
