+davidcalgary29
I saw a TRS 80 Model 16 for sale in "Value Village" yesterday; it was missing its keyboard. Does anyone know if its keyboard was specific to the system, or was it interchangable with one of the other TRS keyboards? In addition, does anyone know when this monster was released? I didn't think anyone much used 8" drives after '81 or so.
jhd
I saw a TRS 80 Model 16 for sale in "Value Village" yesterday; it was missing its keyboard. Does anyone know if its keyboard was specific to the system, or was it interchangable with one of the other TRS keyboards? I suspect that the keyboard would be interchangable with the Model II and probably the Model 12, but not with any of the more common Tandy/RS computers. Try the Usenet group comp.sys.tandy -- there used to be several experts regularly posting there. Here is some basic information: http://www.kjsl.com/trs80/trsother.html#MOD21216 The catalogue # and the original list price: 266001 Model 16 128K 1disk 4999 266002 Model 16 128K 2disk 5798 266004 Model 16B 256K 1disk 4999,3999 266005 Model 16B 256K 2disk 5798,4699 266006 Model 16B 256K 15meg HardDisk 6999,6499 In addition, does anyone know when this monster was released? I didn't think anyone much used 8" drives after '81 or so. That sounds about right; I have hazy memories of seeing them in the catalogue to about 1982 or even '83, but that was possibly the clearing of old stock.
