xg4bx
I have a copy of Samurai-Ghost for the Turbografx that I'm looking to sell. However my perusal of places like Ebay shows me that this game seems to barely exist as the only listing I could find for the American version was one CiB for $400. My copy is just the HuCard only so I popped it up there for $200. Is that a fair price? Is the game really that rare?
+GoldenWheels
Going by recent SOLD listings it doesn't appear to be a good price, no. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=samurai+ghost&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xsamurai+ghost+turbografx.TRS1&_nkw=samurai+ghost+turbografx&_sacat=0 There's a few recents that were around 200$ but they were CIC. There's the loose hus lot there which also included Bonk and LA2 along with Samurai Ghost, and that went for $117. But it is a fairly uncommon listing on ebay and doesn't come up often, so it's not TOO ridiculous to try I guess. To me though, it's a completists game (you can buy the PC engine version easily just to play, and the game isn't really great...) so if you're a completist, I think you'd be looking for the case and manual too. Gentlegamer
A lucy should go around $15-20.

Thanks for the advice. I just had a hard time pinning down what's reasonable. I already have somebody watching it so maybe they'll make an offer before the listing is up

They want to see if you can sell it for that price so they can try and sell theirs for double it's value. I think the max you should expect is $100 but realistically $75 seems to be the going rate. https://www.pricecharting.com/game/turbografx-16/samurai-ghost#completed-auctions-used

+Black_Tiger
Thanks for the advice. I just had a hard time pinning down what's reasonable. I already have somebody watching it so maybe they'll make an offer before the listing is up List it as an auction with no reserve and a starting price of 99 cents. If you want a reasonable equivalent to a reserve, then set the minimum at $40 or $50. If you want to know what games have been actually selling for, click on "Sold Listings" in the search results. For a more accurate idea, also check "Completed" listings and pay attention to the prices at which a games fails to sell at. A recent loose copy sold for $85 shipped and another wwas part of a 6 game lot for $117. Be aware that a lot of TurboGrafx-16 sales on eBay are bogus and the results feature both shill bids and bidders who never pay. You also can't gauge the price of one part of a game based on CIB sale prices. The reason so many TurboGrafx-16 games have inflated CIB prices is because of single hard to find pieces, usually the cardboard box, which is often worth more to completionists than the combined game/case/manual.
