Thanks Greg - would be amazing if it worked on the CC40 too!

ok reading back and testing confirms the CC40 has no cassette ability. just the CC40+

So if you want to use storage with the CC40 you need the Hex-ti-r interface which is better anyway as it's a stand alone hard disk equiv

Thanks for trying. I nearly bought a CC40+ last year. Ah well. Would be nice to have one device to work on both machines!

How do you connect the hex-ti-r to each TI? I have some spare hexbus leads for my CC40, but would I have to build a lead with a dockbus plug on it for the 74? I have never seen a stand alone lead for one.

It has a hexbus plug on it, and you use a hexbus to dockbus adapter to connect to dockbus with some dupont connectors

i stock the drive and adapter

It is in fact made..   pins are installed for cables to plug into

Ok so do you plug one side into a hexbus cable and the other pins directly into the TI-74 itself? Just trying to visualise how it all fits together. Thanks

Like this I can throw in a dupont cable if needed

I received my own CIduino7 digital cassette interface for my TI74 at the weekend. I managed to upload a series of simple basic programs I had saved on cassette many years ago. Please find attached. I have included instructions too.

Simply load using the command old "1.Game-Mix"

All 6 programs are contained in the one txt file.

Not sure if an original PCIF can be used or the Hex-TI-r-Hexbus.

At the moment I had to modify the programs on the TI74 itself rather than my PC.

I have loads more programs, so will upload more interesting things too soon!

Just tried my Haunted House Text Adventure game which requires an additional 8K ram cartridge to run. Took a while but managed to upload it ok. Good little game with the facility to save your progress onto cassette!

The program can be converted very easily to load/save from the SD storage solution as noted in the program listing:

5 REM WILL ALSO PLAY ON AN 18K CC-40 - BUT PLAYER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SAVE
6 REM OR LOAD A PREVIOUS GAME - AS THE GAME USES THE TI-74'S CI-7
7 REM CASSETTE INTERFACE. LINES 6000-7200 COULD BE AMENDED TO CHANGE THIS THOUGH

I have attached the amended version (binary).

Thanks for the amended version!

If anyone wants to put these programs in a directory or on another site please feel free. I wanted to demonstrate that having a single row display does not limit the system. Just your own imagination that limits you!
