Skippy B. Coyote
Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if anyone knew whether a light gun made for PAL format regions would work on a NTSC CRT TV with an NTSC system and games? The system doesn't really matter, but for the sake of being specific I'll say the original PlayStation or Sega Saturn. Or how about the Namco GunCon that taps into the composite video output cable between the system an TV? Any ideas? 7800fan
I do know older guns like Atari, Sega Phazer, and NES Zapper would work fine, it just passes the timing of the screen flash to the console to compute the location of the hit. I have no idea how exactly the later ones for Playstation and Saturn worked.
CatPix
Some PS2 and Dreamcast in Europe had 60 htz options, including light games, so I assume that newer ones works like older ones and that the timing is calcualted entierely by the game, and not by the gun.
