Sinphaltimus
It might be that's what cooked the rom switcher.
nd2003grad
where is the chip located?
carlsson
The kickswitch only got one chip besides the two ROM slots. I can't say for sure, but it looked a bit clouded to me.
Nebulon
Not sure if these will help, but you never know: https://archive.org/details/Amiga5002000TroubleShooter https://archive.org/details/AMIGADiagnostician
nd2003grad
Thank you! Yeah, I've seen that...I managed to get another 500 for cheap but I can't pick it up for a while...I'm hoping to at least get one working good one out of it! nd2003grad
Not sure how, but I seem to have fixed of this by merely using the 1.2 ROM chip in place of the switcher. I tried that before and it didn't work, but it does now. Now I have a problem with my gotek. I'm going to have to start another thread for that one.
Nebulon
I'm guessing it said, "This is Amiga speaking. I'd like to be returned to factory specifications." At least we know the 500 itself is okay (or appears to be anyway).
