GBA Cart Batteries

I have a Mother 3 fan translation hack cart that doesn't save. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to replace the battery to see if that's the issue. I've never done it before.

That is most likely why it does not save. They should be soldered but you can do a pry method and use electrical tape if that is your only option. You're not to far from me I could swap it if you ever go east past Rochester.

You'll have to get the special Nintendo security bit driver, plus a battery, and a cheap solder kit would work. An investment of around $30 will get you set up. The actual replacement isn't very hard even for a novice. I've replaced about 20 SNES batteries myself.

Cool, thanks for the feedback. I have a solder kit I've used for work on guitars and I think I have the bit in a kit I bought to fix my Wii U Gamepad. I'll give it a shot.

Just a warning : it's more adviseable to solder a battery holder if you're a beginner in soldering, the battery might pop if you overheat it.

There is no room for a holder in a Gameboy cart.
