"Correct" order of attaching ECS / Intellivoice?

Most pictures I've seen show

Master Component->ECS->Intellivoice

 

But I've seen at least one that goes

Master Component->Intellivoice->ECS

 

Is there a "correct" or "preferred" order for any technical reason (that is, other that aesthetics). Does it really matter?

I think you need MC->ECS->Intellivoice.

I just scienced it. It works both ways. Voice and ECS functions all work.

 

I always go MC->ECS->Voice, just because it looks kinda silly with the Intellivoice in the middle.

I believe both will work and I've done both. I don't remember issues with either order. The pinouts I've seen suggest the ECS is aware of the Intellivoice, and does the "right thing."

 

That said, I usually put MC => ECS => Intellivoice.

For some reason I thought World Series Major League Baseball didn't have voice when I tried MC=>Intellivoice=>ECS... But knowing me, I forgot to power up the ECS.
