Bill Loguidice
Are the Namco games on the Atari unit VCS roms, or reprogrammed like Space Invaders and Frogger in prior units? The Namco games are the originals, although Pac-Man is one of the recent homebrews.
Bill Loguidice
Because I gotta be that guy... How compatible is it? Will the Sega HD accept an Everdrive? Master System pin adapter? It should have similar, if not slightly improved, compatibility to previous Classic Consoles. I have yet to test it with this functionality, but I don't believe it will work with any flash carts or pin adapters (although depending upon how the latter works, possibly).
Bill Loguidice
So is the Activision one the only one that includes paddles or does the regular gold do that as well? Just the Activision one, although they'll still be available separately along with wired joysticks.
Bill Loguidice
If you're not sick and tired of questions yet, any hints about the fate of an Intellivision Flashback 2? Sounded like the possibility was in play a few weeks ago and could go either way. If it does still happen, it won't be released in the same time-frame as the other products (September). I've seen no further movement on it, so I just don't know. I'd say it's not going to happen at this point, but since it would essentially be the same unit with a different mix of games, it can likely be produced rather quickly if there was a "go" decision.
Bill Loguidice
Sorry I'm late to the party, but is this going to be official? Is what going to be official?
Bill Loguidice
Yeah, that's weird. Reminds me of the Konami plug and plays back in 2005 or so. One had six games including Frogger, the other one was just Frogger. Same price. Believe me, I had MANY questions about it! In any case, that's why to the crew here, I'm recommending the Activision one. It's definitely the best value.
AAA177
Like someone else said, sorry about the questions, and perhaps someone else might know this aside from Bill, who has been very patient. I'm not an expert on Atari like everyone else here is, although I love the system and it is very nostalgic for me (as well as practical in terms of gaming enjoyment). Therefore, let me say I thought Xevious -- which, although the picture is small, looks to be included on the portable -- never existed for the 2600. Wasn't it just a rough demo? I'm wondering if this is now a finished product. Thanks.

Atariboy
Is Space Shuttle playable? As I recall, that needs the b&w/color switch and that's an area that has been problematic in the past. Too bad that Pitfall II didn't make the cut since they have the library pretty well covered otherwise. Ignoring Imagic and Absolute, I just see missing prototypes and the licensed games (Although speaking of Imagic, hopefully they expand in that direction in 2018). Barring being a possible retailer exclusive, I imagine the extra emulation requirements probably weren't justified to bring Pitfall II on board? Greg2600
I've mostly responded on Facebook, but I find the various offerings very confusing. At least with the Sega offering, one can buy a "Gold" or whatever is the top tier, and get all the games, HDMI, etc. As a collector, many of who have purchased multiple Atari Flashbacks from At Games, I'm frankly annoyed that the "Gold" edition may not have all the games which are part of the other offerings. Flojomojo
Are real paddle controllers going to work for games like kaboom and circus atari? Yes, and the Gold Box Activision edition comes with a set of paddles, too. Happiness!

Flojomojo
Wait a minute, why would anyone buy a Gold if the Activision Gold is superior? it's the latest mystery of Atari, along with Swordquest, the desert burials, and WTF happened with VCS Pac-Man. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/259236-2017-flashback-faq-and-speculation-thread/?p=3780707
Asaki
In any case, that's why to the crew here, I'm recommending the Activision one. It's definitely the best value. Depends on what one values. I find portability and an SD card slot to be of great value Speaking of which, can you let us know if the 2017 AFP will have the LCD orientation fixed or not? The only place in Canada that I've heard of is Bed Bath and Beyond's website here because no local stores in my area carry it and we don't have BB&B in my town. I don't know if it's just my city but Toys R Us never carried these, no walmarts, none of the dollar or small chain stores that others in the US seem to be able to get them. It's almost like Canada doesn't exist when it comes to these products for some reason.

Asaki
If you mean will games fit better to the screen, then yes, some tweaks in that area have been made as needed. No, I mean with the current FBP, they used an LCD designed for vertical orientation, which is why it's hard to get both of your eyeballs to match up when you hold it horizontally (which 99.9% of the game library requires).
Flojomojo
In other words, viewing angles. Is it really a vertical screen, or just an inexpensive one?
