Ok, so you dont have any idea how to program in MCL either than Darklord? There is a MCL tutorial with Michtron bbs 2.0 and a manual in electronic form. I have looked at it, and it does not jibe with the .m listings I have on some of the commands. So I think there was a pretty major revision in the MCL from 2.0 to 3.0 - but I am a hardware guy not a programmer. I have read that the program itself is an interpreter of the language - so maybe there are some special sysop commands that allow you to load in a file? I see there is a DEBUG command to flag errors, you are able to watch a task console. So maybe you write it in a text editor - start the bbs and load your module in and test that way?? The other one I am trying to play with is TurboBoard - which between 1991-1994 was one of the most popular ST bbs' It took over from ForemST added and changed a few things - was FULLY into FNET- might have even been able to FIDO. It was authored in my city here in Canada, but I cannot find anything on it, seems it left little of no legacy accept in magazines. I would think that having the manual/commands for that would be fairly important. I can't imagine working with BBS Express's scripting language without the Express manual. That's pretty much what I do here with DarkForce!. I use the Editress text editor (although I really like QED as well). It's available in ACC form. So with DarkForce! up and running, I can hit F9 which gives me access to the desk accessories, launch Editress, load up a .SCR (script) file, edit it to my heart's content, drop out of the desk accessories, then from the SysOps command shell while logged into Express, run the script and check for errors, all "real time". I don't have to quit all the way to the desktop, check, and rerun everything. Then, after I'm sure I've got the script working exactly like I want it to, I'll compile it and put it in place for our callers and regular daily use. Also, while I'm doing this, Express will have the WiModem232 set to give anyone trying to call in the "busy" message. Really super dead handy. Hopefully, with the console 'n stuff you mentioned in Michtron v3.0, you can setup a similar environment. It's really nice. I've not used Turboboard although I do remember logging in to a few of them back in the day (don't remember any specific names, unfortunately). I've bemoaned this before but we've lost way too much over time...
