So I picked up a lot of games with the sole intention of acquiring my 1st "double label" game. The small white label over the larger color label. Some others here have posted about these games and I'd like to know more about them. Also est value for double label Skiing.

Time for an updated pic!

Intellivision Inc double labeled carts (Jan 2017)

So my assumption regarding the history of these is that Mattel had some leftover stock that was transferred to the Intellivision Inc/INTV Corp folks. They wanted to use up the remaining inventory but couldn't leave the Mattel copyrights, so they printed up new boxes, manuals, and cart labels (and some overlays). Instead of removing the Mattel cart labels, they just added the Intellivision Inc labels atop the Mattel ones, at least for some of the old stock. I've also seen M Network games for the Atari 2600 that received the same treatment.

In general, these don't have much value and are largely overlooked. I've probably overpaid for a few of these, but it's a fun sub-collection. I've seen maybe 3-5 Skiing carts over the years, so it's far from the rarest. The most common are Golf, Skiing, and Mission X. I also know of (but don't own) Football and Royal Dealer as well as a few M Network ones.

Steve has a bit more info here.

I'm not proud to say that the highest I paid for one of these was $7 for the Poker with the torn label. In all fairness, a decent chunk of that was shipping. You'll realize pretty quickly that these are not too common, so just pay what you're comfortable with. I've really enjoyed hunting for these and picked most up for a buck or two each.

Nice collection Jason! I'm pretty sure I don't have too many of these, but in all honestly I really haven't paid too much attention till maybe the last year or so. I've really got to dig out my boxes of extras and examine a little closer.

I've found tons of goodies by simply never selling anything and 'heading off to the piles' to look for stuff I've overlooked. Sea Battle, Roulette, Math Fun...pretty sure those were just hanging out in my collection before I realized I appreciated them.

Tonight....organizing my pile of loose manuals....

Jason, I can confirm a sighting for a Sharp Shot double label:

Look at the second picture listed. Not sure what that first one was all about, lol

I saw that yesterday. Trippy.

I'll add Sharp Shot to my denominator.

Are you trying to get these CIB or just collecting the carts themselves for now?

I have a pretty extensive Intellivision Inc collection. I pulled the double label carts from the boxes (sacrilige?) as a separate collection. Regarding CIB, I believe I own 47/48 of the known I.I. titles CIB (not inc box variants). The one I'm missing is Super Series Big League Baseball. There is Loco-motion (#49, for which no box has surfaced) and some orphan manuals (checkers, tennis, word fun, Tron SS, Frog Bog) and some box variants (upc/bar codes on bottom of boxes and varying references to number of players). Steve has done a fantastic job of documenting manual variants...I have many, but I'm missing a bunch.

So...in short....uh...kinda? The Intellivision Inc era broke all the rules and is the variant collector's dream nightmare.

Interesting. Could Loco-Motion have only been sold as a baggy release the way some INTV era games were?

What are some of the Intellivision, Inc. variants you are missing?

I know Tron SS was a baggie release. I also suspect Locomotion, Word Fun, Checkers, and Tennis. It's hard to say, though. They may have been sold in normal Mattel Boxes. Those days were chaos as they seemed to be simply unloading extra stock.

Regarding variants...I'd have to check Intvfunhouse. There are tons of variants. My initial collecting phase involved simply finding CIB versions of the 48ish titles known to have boxes. Someday, I hope to collaborate with Steve, Humblejack, Cmart and whoever else wants to join and really figure out Intellivision Inc. Steve has done most of the grunt work, but I'm sure we'd still have some additions to his lists. Variants may be the death of me :)

Sweet!  My first (and only) M Network double label.  Been looking for these since I started hunting Intellivision double labels and this is the first I’ve found.
