WIZZARD77
I've recently been playing my 2600 (4-switch) alot lately with all the new homebrews out. I have it s-video modded with one of the Electronicsntimentalities boards that I installed a while ago and it works well, but Lately I've noticed buzzing through the speakers when bright colors are diplayed. The Sword of Iffrit game select screen, with the whole screen white, produces the noise it is less in game (green backgrounds) but still noticeable. It doesn't drown out the sound at all just abit annoying. What i'm wondering is, what can I do to reduce the noise? mojoatomic
Replace the 2 .1uF chicklet caps in the power supply stage and the 2 820pF polystyrene caps in the audio section. I suspect the .1uFs are bleeding.
mojoatomic
c241-c242 & c206-c207 on the cx2600A model. Also, without knowing what your A/V mod looks like, I might also suspect dressing of ground on your a/v connections. mojoatomic
Most welcome. Also, while your at it... might as well replace the two 4.7uf radial caps and the 2200uf axial at C201, C214,& C243 as they most certainty have a high ESR value and are 20 years past needing replacement.
