7800
Hope you don't mind me hijacking this really old thread, but I wanted to avoid creating any duplicate threads regarding the topic of CRT issues. I have a 1987 JVC 13" low end TV that has a few screen issues through the coaxial cable input. Not much I can do as far as adjusting things on the inside, so I figured I'd replace a few of the high voltage caps... and see if it made a difference. That didn't work so, now I'm wondering if you guys have any ideas of what could be causing the image distortions. If you look at the pics you will see that at the top of the screen there's a "zig zag" effect that shoots across from left to right... this is happening on the top and bottom. However, it is mostly seen when a game has vertical lines or objects. But when playing a game like Sonic the Hedgehog, as the game scrolls... the palm trees do get distorted as they move from left to right or vise versa. Any ideas?? Also, with the "grid" test pattern, ALL the vertical lines are "zig zaggy" ... which is strange. Edited February 9, 2022 by 7800
