keepdreamin
Okay Thank you. But will the serial number matter? My VA2 case is 39S serial and my VA3 case is 30V serial. What on earth are you talking about? The serial number? The case doesn't care what motherboard is in there. The game isn't going to care or check the revision of the case and compare it to the board. The only person it matters to is you, so why are you asking someone else about what should be an internal dialogue? Which screams OCD, BTW. No it won't matter at all. In fact there isn't any labeling on the mainboard to even match the serial numbers with them. So again if the shoe fits in this case...then wear it and keep traveling..or playing your genesis as the case may be. What on earth are you talking about? The serial number? Okay man, I put the VA2 case with my VA3 board and let me tell you, The VA3 sounds good, but can i pretend it's a VA2 board by putting sticky notes on the board and writing VA2 and 6992 for the 837-6992 revision? By the way, it works, You can send me a real VA2 board if you want. But in the mean time, I'm happy with my pretend VA2 board (VA3 with sticky notes) in a real VA2 case
+-^CrossBow^-
The only va2 board I have is the one I use in my primary genesis model 1. BTW...my serial number is actually higher than the va3 you mentioned? So it is likely that both va2 and va3 boards were being used at the same time. So when you think about it, your va3 board in the va2 shell could be legit. I'm calling this solved...

Why would a VA2 board be the one in your primary Genesis. Does your VA2 distort and have quiet sound on TV. Can i pretend it's a VA2 board by putting sticky notes on the board and wrirting VA2. No FAIR! Do you know anyone besides travistouchdown know anything about Genesis board revision? Thank you. Thanks for calling it solved anyway . Do you have any other Genesis 1 consoles with a different VA revision and would you give up on your VA2? +-^CrossBow^-
No..my va2 doesn't have low end sound. I recapped the entire thing about 2 years ago to correct and prevent that. Additionally, I wouldn't part with my va2 for the fact it is pretty heavily modded and the Signetics CPU that is in it, is flaky from time to time. Especially with Sonic 3. I've too much invested in mine and making it the way I want it to be to offer it up. Even if it dies, I have a very nice va6 ready to takes its place should that be needed in the future. Have fun with your awesome va2 anyway. What is your serial in it as i'm gonna try to find my own VA2 Model 1. Why don't you want to give up your VA2? I really need one as those are rare.  :crying: If i manage to find one, I'll update and let you know. Can you take a picture of your serial and your heavily modded board. I meant low sound as quiet sound prior to recapping 2 years ago. I know how to spot a NON-TMSS Genesis by seeing 39 in Serial. Is your VA2 39????? What production letter is it for your VA2. Will S, T, U or V production letters in the serial 39 do for me if i find my own VA2. Thank you.
