+therealbountybob Posted January 2, 2018 Author Share Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) Thanks for sticking it this season, it's been a bit more relaxed pace than ususal but we've covered lots of decent games and found a couple of gems - see the latest Pro© mag for my reviews of Spare Change and Ghost Hunter, plus SS Achilles from HSC13 I held of a stout challenge from McKong with carlsson showing that regular participation pays off and hanging onto the 3rd hall of fame spot :thumbsup: We'll start up season 15 in a week or two so have a quick rest and try out some of the brand new stuff including the New Year Disk which has a few games plus there is a new Lord of The Orb on atarionline.pl and a new ported speccy game School Daze... trbb Edited January 3, 2018 by therealbountybob Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I think Super Pac-Man was my favourite this year, particularly as I'd never played it before. +therealbountybob Posted January 3, 2018 Author Share Posted January 3, 2018 I've highlighted my favourites below, looking back there were more than a few hidden gems this season: as well as Spare Change, Bandits (probably everyone else had played this), Twilight World we should probably play again too and Ghost Hunter a really decent pac-man. Crisis Mountain though a little slow on PAL was a nice game. I really enjoyed the Rally Speedway "HSC GP" and was pleased to complete Spelunker and a level on Shamus Case II for the first times and get further in Mountian King too. Playing the new Mr Robot levels (from Goochman and myslef) was great too though they are a challenge! A few were outside of the HSC, but I'd say at least 100 of them were part of the main rounds or bonus games. My top 10 most played games were: Rally Speedway - 330 min.Getaway - 176 min.Super Cobra - 146 min.Dye - 115 min. (bonus game)Spelunker - 104 min.Kaverns of Kfest - 102 min. (bonus game)Archon - 95 min.Super Pacman - 84 min.Gateway to Apshai - 72 min.Pogoman - 68 min. (bonus game)M.U.L.E. - 68 min. (not part of main HSC) Getaway was a nice surprise, a game I never had seen before and feared the worst (stupid Pac-Man/Rally-X clone?) but which turned out to be a real gem! Bandits also is a nice game. I got further in Snokie than I ever have before. I am no longer able to play games like Mr. Robot for very long, so it was a personal disappointment. I'll admit that Pogo Joe was not quite as fun as I hoped it would be. Some of the other games were quite the stinkers, both among the newly made homebrews and the older, supposedly once commercial games but it probably filters out quite nicely by itself which ones hardly deserve a second chance. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
