Has anyone tried the Joy Con as an Android/IOS game controller yet?

Has anyone tried this yet?

 

Supposedly it works and according to some articles i've seen "may be the best android controller solution yet"

 

I just wonder how it works with games that are touch screen, etc.

 

Going to give it a try myself soon and will report back.

I heard about this but haven't tried it yet. I don't have a single game on my phone though so I probably never will.

Given the long battery life and the relative small size of both, especially one joycon yeah it would be a hell of a good option to use. Price wise at $40 it's fairly on par with other bluetooth mini controllers too that don't suck. No time now I may just try it later on my Shield Tablet, the irony on that one if it worked. (and iphone 5s.)

Its too small in my opinion. As for touch it won't work. Use an ouya controller for that.

Currently each one detects as a controller, but not as one unified device like on Switch. Given their durability and small size, looks like a solid choice.

I am wondering about the buttons though. Joycon uses dual mode in vertical orientation, or single mode in horizontal orientation. Much like the Wiimote could be used horizontally or vertically, the button diamond and analog stick would need to be remapped when switching orientations, and possibly L/R need to be remapped as well.

 

I may get a BT dongle and experiment with the Pro controller in Windoze. Pity it won't work via USB.
