Is there a way to test in my DMA chip is defective in my STE?

Recommended Posts

Not everybody agrees that it is a myth, I would say that there is some controversy. And even Exxos agrees that the (so called) bad DMA chip has more chances to make problems.

If you want to know, open the computer and check the part number of the DMA chip. There is no (reliable) way to find out with a software test.

This is no myth.

I have an STE that does not work with my SatanDisk. It corrupts any SD drive after the first boot. Doesn't happen with my 1040STFM.

Edit: Id like to add that said STE has no issues reading from a real ACSI Supra drive.

EzdineG : have you checked your DMA chip to see if it has chip signature "C025913-38" ?
