Monster Demolition

I've never heard of this title but it looks to me like someone wanted Rampage on the Lynx and this is either a clone with similar gameplay or a tech demo to see if Rampage would be feasible.

Of course Atari signed a licence, some money changed hands and we got Rampage.

Looks fun. Would be cool to see this show up eventually. Almost like an extension of Rampage.

Rampage is on the Lynx. I have never played the arcade version myself, but this version has always been a blast to play.

My understanding is that Monster Demolition is what eventually became Rampage. When Epyx was making demo games, but didn't yet have the IP license or some such. Am sure someone else can confirm, but a little more info here:

Thanks for info.

In my opinion, Monster Demolition graphics actually look better than Rampage.

Sprites are bigger, animation is differant, explosions look deeper, and the Godzilla creature can shoot out flames from his mouth.

I can see how this eventually turned into rampage when Atari got the licensing, but from what I'm seeing, Monster demolition looks like a totally Differant game from the graphics to the gameplay.

It'd be nice to get that rom from somewhere so that the lynx community could archive it. At least the graphics in the demo look really great.

The Lynx finally got an official Japanese release in Summer of 1990, through the mysteriously-named distributor Mumin Japan.

Whaaat? Mumin is only the most well known Finnish cartoon/comic-strip/animation, maybe they released the Lynx in Japan for some reason! ;) They're pretty popular over there.

It'd be pretty nice to create a Lynx game in an art style similar to this: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-ab&biw=1146&bih=1036&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=wvrCW5WkB4WzsQH-urtA&q=mumin+hur+gick+det+sen%3F&oq=mumin+hur+gick+det+sen%3F&gs_l=img.3...1443.1443.0.1659.1.1.0.0.0.0.57.57.1.1.0....0...1c..64.img..0.0.0....0.69VWIfpFMr4

Going purely off aging memory..this was previewed initially in UK press by likes of The Games Machine and C+VG:Ultimate Guide To Consoles and looked more promising than Rampage, which by this point, having played on A8,Master System,C64 and ST,i was growing a little tired of.

I guess Rampage had the name and thus the draw, but it would of been great to had this instead.
