jzIntv Keyboard for ECS?

Recommended Posts

I am having (another) brain freeze. What is the right way to get jzIntv to take input emulating the ECS keyboard and then swapping to use the keyboard as a controller? Does anyone have a working keyboard hackfile I can try out? I am trying to get Super NFL Football to play (OS is Win10), which needs the ECS keyboard for initial input but uses the hand controllers after that.

Thanks.

Is this what you're looking for? It's from the jzintv.txt file in doc/jzintv:

Function/Special keys, all maps:
    F1 Quit
    F4 Break into debugger
F5 Switch to keymap 0 (default keymap)
F6 Switch to keymap 1 (left controller only for 1 player games)
F7 Switch to keymap 2 (ECS keyboard keymap)
F8 Shift to keymap 3 while held (command keys)
    F9 Toggle fullscreen/windowed
    F10 Toggle movie recording
    F11 Take screen shot
    F12 Reset emulator
    Pause Pause the emulator
    PgUp Increase volume
    PgDn Decrease volume

So F7 will take you to ECS keyboard, F5 back to default.

Not sure how that intersects w/ hackfiles used for controller hookups like UlimatePC interface, etc.

Unless you remap a key to something else the default map works regardless of the hackfile being used. To have both keyboard and game controllers at the same time create a hackfile with the following. And repeat for js1, js2, js3 and pd0r, pd1l, pd1r. [button numbers depend on your specific game controller.]

Map 2 ; default ecs keyboard F7

I don't think you can; you can ask the author. I've always left the Intellivoice volume set to the maximum. Did anyone have a need to turn down their Intellivoice volume?

edit: Mame lets you turn down the Intellivoice and ECS computer adapter volumes independently. It even lets you turn down the volume of each voice channel in the main sound chip.
