jce3000gt
...and the save games were still there!!! I had it back in its box for a while and one day I decided I wanted to connect it to my testing station and fire it up and play some stuff but was pleasantly surprised that the saves were still there. I loaded up all my Star Control II games and they loaded without any data loss. I was STOKED! I had always thought that you needed to power up the unit at least once every year or so to keep the saves but maybe I was mistaken? I almost shed a tear, it was beautiful hearing it power on and seeing those saved games still there after ~10 years. I got goosebumps the first time I heard the Crystal Dynamics intro. I'm such a nerd. Edited May 8, 2017 by jce3000gt
+madman
I don't believe they're rechargeable batteries so powering on wouldn't have recharged it. Last I checked my N64 controller paks still had saved games that are around 20 years old by now, CR2032 is still going.
zetastrike
But the FZ-1 doesn't have a built in data manager. Did you pop in a game that needed more space? Edited May 10, 2017 by zetastrike
