Thank you again all, for your interest and your compliments !
I don't know how many motherboards will be available, but as I have a lot of fun to build it, I think that I will produced several. The price (that will come soon, I continue to do my best find vintage IC suppliers to lower the price) will influence the number of motherboards that I should have to build ^_^

About the F18A, I haven't this device so I can't confirm that it works with the TIny-99/4A. But as I said, as it reacts as a real 99/4A, the F18A should work with.

Might I suggest also putting together a kit form for those of us who would like to build it too ;-)

Already asked but Fabrice wants to put the boards together himself. He seems to be getting a real kick out of the process! :)

Thank you again :)
I was not satisfied by the PCB of the extended keyboard that I made: after some testing hours, I conclued that it could be optimized. So I made a new layout and I sent the gerber files to a manufacturer to produce the new extended keyboard PCB version. I should receive the PCBs at the end of the next week. When they will arrive, it will close the development of the computer :)
Just to get an idea of what this keyboard will looks alike, here is a picture:

tiny994a-extended-keyboard2.jpg

Notes:

- The PCB has been made to use Cherry MX keys (or compatible).

- All the ICs are solder on the backside of the keyboard.

- The micro-switch placed on the top-left side of the keyboard is to power on the computer. Meanwhile, it is possible to place a switch on the rear side of the keyboard (to prevent to power off the computer by mistake).
- I have colored the added keys in blue to help you to see the upgrade in comparison with the original keyboard

- The keyboard has now a joystick port (Atari standard). I thought that it could be more practical to connect one here, better than to go to find one on the rear of the computer. Of course, the joystick ports on the rear of the TIny-99/4A are kept.

- There are now two spare places for other ICs for coding some user define combinaison keys; Exactly, four keys.

Looking good.

I suggest turning the joystick port 90 degrees (from down to right) to avoid plug and cable colliding with your hand (when operating the keyboard). ;)

Price? Date of availability, price hmm... I'm m repeating myself..of course everyone wants one!!!

I have contacted many components suppliers to get the better quality at the better price. I had aswers from many of them, just waiting the answer of the last one, from Poland.

You're right ! As I had ordered the extended keyboard PCBs yesterday, I just had time to cancel it. I have modified the PCB to place the joystick port on the left side of the keyboard. I also changed the power switch, it is now a linear switch as the real 99/4A computer:

I send the new PCB gerber files to the manufacturer this night.
