JamesH
Too bad you did not work at TI in the 80's. In some parallel universe this was the box that kept TI computers alive. I soooo want one!!!! fabrice montupet
Thank you again all, for your interest and your compliments !I don't know how many motherboards will be available, but as I have a lot of fun to build it, I think that I will produced several. The price (that will come soon, I continue to do my best find vintage IC suppliers to lower the price) will influence the number of motherboards that I should have to build ^_^About the F18A, I haven't this device so I can't confirm that it works with the TIny-99/4A. But as I said, as it reacts as a real 99/4A, the F18A should work with. 7 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/266585-tiny-994a-computer/page/8/#findComment-4198193 Share on other sites

fabrice montupet
Thank you again I was not satisfied by the PCB of the extended keyboard that I made: after some testing hours, I conclued that it could be optimized. So I made a new layout and I sent the gerber files to a manufacturer to produce the new extended keyboard PCB version. I should receive the PCBs at the end of the next week. When they will arrive, it will close the development of the computer Just to get an idea of what this keyboard will looks alike, here is a picture: Notes: - The PCB has been made to use Cherry MX keys (or compatible). - All the ICs are solder on the backside of the keyboard. - The micro-switch placed on the top-left side of the keyboard is to power on the computer. Meanwhile, it is possible to place a switch on the rear side of the keyboard (to prevent to power off the computer by mistake).- I have colored the added keys in blue to help you to see the upgrade in comparison with the original keyboard - The keyboard has now a joystick port (Atari standard). I thought that it could be more practical to connect one here, better than to go to find one on the rear of the computer. Of course, the joystick ports on the rear of the TIny-99/4A are kept. - There are now two spare places for other ICs for coding some user define combinaison keys; Exactly, four keys. 13 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/266585-tiny-994a-computer/page/8/#findComment-4221150 Share on other sites

fabrice montupet
Price? Date of availability, price hmm... I'm m repeating myself..of course everyone wants one!!! I have contacted many components suppliers to get the better quality at the better price. I had aswers from many of them, just waiting the answer of the last one, from Poland. just to get an idea of the what this computer needs, here is the list of its components: PCBs: Tiny-99/4Av2.4 1 SAMSRAM-A001 1 GROMPORT-A001 1 GROMPORT-B001 1 EXTKEYBOARD v1.0 1 Integreted Circuits: TMS9900 3MHz 1 TMS-9929A/18A 1 TMS9901 1 SN94624 1 TMS5220 1 TMS6110 2 MM58167 1 Memories: TMS4116 8 MC6810 2 KN684000BLP-7L 2 99/4AGROM0 1 99/4AGROM1 1 99/4AGROM2 1 99/4A ROM HIGH 1 99/4A ROM LOW 1 TTL circuits: 74LS00 3 74LS01 5 74LS03 1 74LS04 4 74HCT04 1 74LS08 2 74LS32 3 74LS74 1 74LS138 5 74HCT138 1 74LS156 1 74LS194 1 74LS244 5 74LS245 3 74LS259 1 74LS362A 1 74LS367 2 74LS373 2 74LS612 1 74LS688 1 Resistors: 10 4 22 4 47 1 62 4 75 1 100 7 150 5 220 1 270 3 330 1 360 1 470 11 1K 29 1K5 2 1K8 1 2K2 3 3K3 1 4K7 5 5K6 1 10K 13 12K 1 47K 4 100K 3 150K 1 220K 1 270K 1 470K 1 1M 1 1M5 1 3M3 1 Resistors networks: 101-102-8p 2 470-102-12p 3 152-101-10p 1 470-101-8p 1 102-101-11p 1 Variable resistors: 5K 3 Capacitors: 12pF 1 22pF 2 30pF 1 56pF 1 0.001uF 22 0.01uF 2 0.1uF 91 1.0uF 1 1uF 1 10uF 25v 5 22uF 25v 5 100uF 16v 3 100uF 25v 3 Inductors: 0.33uH 1 5.8uH 1 6.8uH 14 Diodes & Transistors: 1N914/1N4148 32 2N2222 1 2N3904 5 BC547B 10 Crystals: 32.768KHz 1 10.7386MHz 1 12.0000MHz 1 14.0000MHz 1 BUS Connectors: EDGE CONN 36p 2.54 2 EDGE CONN 56p 2.54 3 Header Connectors: PIN HDR 1X2 MALE 2.54 7 PIN HDR 1X3 MALE 2.54 4 PIN HDR 1X6 MALE 2.54 1 PIN HDR 2X3 MALE 2.54 1 PIN HDR 2X5 MALE 2.54 1 PIN HDR 2X6 MALE 2.54 2 PIN HDR 2X20 FEM 2.54 1 PIN HDR 2X10 MALE 2.54 90° 1 IDC HDR 2X10 FEM 2.54 2 BOX HDR 2X10 MALE 2.54 1 Leds: LEDRED 8MM 20mA 2 LEDGREEN 8MM 20mA 2 Switches: MICRO-SWITCH 6X6 2 Linear SWITCH SPDT 3pin 1 Connectors: MOLEX 4pin HORIZ. 1 MOLEX 4pin VERT. 1 RIGHT ANGLE D-SUB 9p FEM 1 RIGHT ANGLE D-SUB 9p MALE 3 Various: SUPPORT CR2032 VERT. 1 TOUCHES MX 79 MXCAPS 1.0 71 MXCAPS 1.25u 1 MXCAPS 1.5u 2 MXCAPS 1.75u 1 MXCAPS 2.0u 1 MXCAPS 2.25u 2 MXCAPS SPACEBAR 6.25u 50 1 MX STABILIZER 8 MX STABILIZER SPRING 4 MX STABILIZER SPACEBAR SPRING 1 Flat Cable 36/40P Flat Cable 20P DIL Support Tulipe: 14pin 2.54 7.62 14 16pin 2.54 7.62 23 20pin 2.54 7.62 12 24pin 2.54 15.24 5 28pin 2.54 15.24 2 36pin 2.54 15.24 2 40pin 2.54 15.24 3 64pin 2.54 22.86 1 In view of this very long list of components needed, you'll understand why I do my best the find the best prices Looking good. As I had ordered the extended keyboard PCBs yesterday, I just had time to cancel it. I have modified the PCB to place the joystick port on the left side of the keyboard. I also changed the power switch, it is now a linear switch as the real 99/4A computer: I send the new PCB gerber files to the manufacturer this night.
