Odd Fault in 1050

Best isn't in the business of repair work though,

you'll have to find somebody else for that. The

3086 chip itself can be had elsewhere too if

that was the intention, eBay is a fine source

as are many others.

Can you verify that writes are actually occurring

as valid data? Because if the format power isn't

there then the write capability can't be there

either. The drive may act like it's writing but

it actually isn't doing a good job of it. While

it's broke it would be nice to verify that writes

appear to work but actually the old data remains

and the drive is just playing with our heads in

this regard.

Paul Westphal - is Paul Alhart still around, he

would be the go to fix it guy right? I seem to

remember that you had some work done by him and

I know him from ancient ads he used to run and

by posts in bulletin board snippets I've run

across too.

Well that was easy...

Phone number is for New Hope Center run

by Mikki Alhart and is a bookstore

established in 2013. Now if only Paul A

is still with us...

Is Mikki a relative of Pauls? They do have the same last name.

411.com also comes up with a Paul Vincent Alhart in Lompoc, it lists that he knows a Michelle Alhart(could be Mikki).

The link for more information is to Whitepages Premium which is restricted to the US.

Didn't know about that restriction, although

overseas business is likely slow in the Atari

repair end to start with?

I will assume Mikki is daughter or wife. Just

providing information here, not calling myself

as my drives work fine when I have used them.

Here is the gist of that page I linked to

above.
