bradhig1
I know. The ring I stick the alan wrench into in that shaft has fallen down the shaft and is hard to reach now.
bradhig1
I wanna try to fix it myself. I think I need to open the RF shield.
SignGuy81
I wanna try to fix it myself. I think I need to open the RF shield. yes you will have to get that open EDIT: I looked back at the picture looking down at the board sideways it should be pretty easy because there is a gap to fit a screwdriver into, and then just heat up the solder at each tab on that side going back and forth and slowly twisting the screwdriver and you will slowly work it out, just do that all the way around if you don't have a desoldering iron or wick or anything. bradhig1
I think I broke it when I knock off so solder that was bridging the rf terminal to the ground.. I still get a picture.
bradhig1
RF shield won't come off. I held my solder sucker to it and it didn't melt. No smoke at all. I think it's welded together.

bradhig1
I tried to fix the ground around where the rf cable connects and reflowed on solder joint on the blue pot. As I was adjusting the rf the left paddle stopped working. Why couldn't this thing work out of the box?

Kain3n
Dont know if youre still trying to fix the video on your Telstar, the rf modules seem to fail on these often and not sure how to repair the module. A composite video mod is the easiest way to go to fix your video and is fairly easy to do all you need is a couple wires to do it. You can find all the info you need in this thread http://atariage.com/forums/topic/251031-composite-mod-coleco-telstar/
