Mr SQL
imo it is like you 48x more RAM available, you just lose ROM for however much you allocate. Here's an example of a programmable tracker/sequencer that stores the compositions in 800 variables: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/255271-basic-programming-example-with-800-variables/ The CBS RAM version can only record for about 30 seconds compared to two minutes. Mr SQL
This add is pretty accurate, the SuperCharger is basically a 6K RAM expansion board that turns the Atari into a full fledged computer like it's period contemporaries, but only as a program execution and playback device since the ACR interface on the expansion board has no output capability. I don't think the SuperCharger was ever tapped to it's full potential back in the day; Virual World BASIC for the SuperCharger is designed to allow maximum use of the RAM with the ability to declare unlimited array variables and a soft blitter for enhanced graphics output that includes Display Lists like the 400/5200.
