bradhig1
I cleaned it so the contacts are shinning like new but it won't work. All I get is a purple screen ,green screen, or black screen. Is there anything else I can do to fix it?
+atari2600land
Do you have an INTV II? It won't work in those.
Humblejack
Out of the 4 million copies out there it should not be hard to replace it. I have a couple of dozen if you want one for just the shipping cost.
+JasonlikesINTV
Try inserting at a slight angle and/or not all the way inserted. If you have an Intellivoice, maybe try running it through that. Some games like the Intellivoice pins.
+BBWW
From all the carts in my garage...Donkey Kong Jr sold no where near what Donkey Kong did. Everybody bought Donkey Kong - and learned a lesson.
bradhig1
I have Donkey Kong and Zaxxon. They both work on my Intellivision 1. Second cartridge that died on me after a copy of barnstorming for atari 2600 died.
mr_me
Try inserting the cartridge and then pulling it back until only the edge of the cartridge contacts the edge of the slot. Turn it on and reset. I have two cartridges that only work this way. You can open the cartridge and check for solder problems. Donkey Kong Junior is compatible with Intellivision II. Tried that and it still didn't work.
bradhig1
I see mostly cbs versions of Donkey Kong JR on Ebay. Are those the same as the Coleco version?

bradhig1
Here a close up of the back of the board. Is that cracked solder with the lines in it?
mr_me
The solder looks fine. If you are concerned about lines, you can check continuity with a multimeter.
