jztinv can't write start.bat

Recommended Posts

Where are you downloading jzintv from?

You can rename rom extensions to whatever you like, except .rom file are different and should remain .rom. And .bin/itv/int files should not be renamed .rom.

You can get .cfg files to the original games here, most Mattel games don't need one with jzintv.

I downloaded an old version from the intellivisoin.us site. Roms I have only go to title screen which says SDK-1600 mini exec presents game name. When I hit one to start the game the emulator closes down and goes back to the gui.

Some games only show solid game screen and won't do anything.and nostalgia won't run them either. In the dos window at the bottom of the list it says pc halt 1739

The only rom that works on jintv is donkey kong arcade all others won't..

If the exec and grom files came packaged with an emulator they might be "homebrew" versions of the system files. You should get Mattel's versions of exec and grom and rename them exec.bin and grom.bin for jzintv.

By the way the default way to start an Intellivision game is to hit the disc. Many games that use the classic exec system will start at a slower speed when pressing one (eg. LocknChase, Burgertime, Space Battle). Some games have only one speed and pressing one might select a skill level (eg. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons).

HELP @mr_me!!!!
I need instructions and tutorials to run jztinv emulator and play Intellivision games on this EMU.

Feel free to start a new thread.  What operating system are you using?

Windows 7 (Also, I have a spare computer with Windows 10).

Either copy of WIndows should be similar.  Assuming you have jzintv downloaded and extracted to a folder on a local drive, try the following to test that it works.

-place copies of exec.bin and grom.bin in the ./rom sub-folder

-drag and drop a game rom file on to the application file ./bin/jzintv.exe  (the .exe extension might be hidden)

-the game should start in a small window

As an alternative to drag and drop ROM files onto the executable, you could start a command shell and type in the commands. Generally you would navigate to the folder where you have your ROM files and then use \emu\jzintv\bin\jzintv filename.rom. Not quite as UI friendly as you might want it to be, but as a bonus you get to see all the debug print including all possible error messages that you may encounter, without the window closing instantly.
