bradhig1
I have the system roms set up and when I try to play a game it says can't write start.bat why? Am I missing something? bradhig1
I downloaded a newer version and now the games won't go beyond the title screen. When I press 1 the emulator shuts down. bradhig1
I tried nostalgia but all the rom files are in *.int format. Do I need to rename them to bin or rom? bradhig1
Where can I get intellivision roms there are not in *.int format and have cfg files? ? mr_me
Where are you downloading jzintv from? http://spatula-city.org/%7Eim14u2c/intv/ You can rename rom extensions to whatever you like, except .rom file are different and should remain .rom. And .bin/itv/int files should not be renamed .rom. You can get .cfg files to the original games here, most Mattel games don't need one with jzintv. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/203179-config-files-to-use-with-various-intellivision-titles/page-2?do=findComment&comment=3480601 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3809468 Share on other sites

Roms I have only go to title screen which says SDK-1600 mini exec presents game name. When I hit one to start the game the emulator closes down and goes back to the gui. bradhig1
IT is a win32 program and I am using windows 10. Could that be the problem? Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3809507 Share on other sites
mr_me
If the exec and grom files came packaged with an emulator they might be "homebrew" versions of the system files. You should get Mattel's versions of exec and grom and rename them exec.bin and grom.bin for jzintv. By the way the default way to start an Intellivision game is to hit the disc. Many games that use the classic exec system will start at a slower speed when pressing one (eg. LocknChase, Burgertime, Space Battle). Some games have only one speed and pressing one might select a skill level (eg. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons). bradhig1
That is was it. What keys are the controls mapped to? Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3809523 Share on other sites
mr_me
Default key mappings are in the included documentation. http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv/jzintv-1.0-beta3/doc/jzintv/jzintv.txt Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3809541 Share on other sites
bradhig1
It runs fast compared to a real intellivision. Any way to slow it down? Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3809794 Share on other sites
mr_me
Jzintv? Are you sure. It normally runs incredibly accurate. There is a switch to force it to run fast but I doubt its on. Run chess and check the clock. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3809936 Share on other sites
bradhig1
I don't have chess. Nostalgia runs at normal speed. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3810519 Share on other sites
bradhig1
Seconds on the clock for chess run fast. Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-3810645 Share on other sites
mr_me
I haven't tested that old version but current jzintv versions don't have that problem with Windows 10. Nostalgia timing is slightly off but it is too small to notice; jzintv is very accurate. roadrunner
Try this version of Bliss, it doesn't need to be installed just put the exec and grom inside the extracted folder. Bliss2.0.5 intellivision emulator.7z Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-4935412 Share on other sites

Assuming you have jzintv downloaded and extracted to a folder on a local drive, try the following to test that it works. -place copies of exec.bin and grom.bin in the ./rom sub-folder -drag and drop a game rom file on to the application file ./bin/jzintv.exe (the .exe extension might be hidden) -the game should start in a small window Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/267940-jztinv-cant-write-startbat/#findComment-4935791 Share on other sites
carlsson
As an alternative to drag and drop ROM files onto the executable, you could start a command shell and type in the commands. Generally you would navigate to the folder where you have your ROM files and then use \emu\jzintv\bin\jzintv filename.rom. Not quite as UI friendly as you might want it to be, but as a bonus you get to see all the debug print including all possible error messages that you may encounter, without the window closing instantly.
