It's the one I had on a transdisk menu so it must have been a cassette version: atarimania have 4 versions listed - looks like it is the Sparklers one though I don't have the loading screen but that might just be how I got it to transdisk. Slim possibility I have the cassette in my big Atari box! Taking of 'Rescue I got the speedboat for the first time, this made my eyes burst as the screen blisters across - not sure this is a good tactic 29,970 still not managed to rescue 9 in 1 go River Rat is more relaxing afterwards but still not crawled enough to complete level 5 and keep twitching into something for no reason (250k) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

McKong Posted August 4, 2017 Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) I managed to pick up the special bonus for doing a rescue after upgrading the boat! I only found out about this after reading the instructions last night. So I picked up 9 people and got the 5k bonus, then upgraded the boat and managed to dock at a platform. The boat then goes back into slow mode, and for some strange reason I crashed pretty quickly afterwards! Having got about 30k with my first life I only got another 10k with the next 5! McKong Posted August 6, 2017 Share Posted August 6, 2017 There are a few things in River Rescue that arent evident until you play for a while. Another one is that after you reach a certain point you cant return your boat to the left of the screen. As far as i remember this resets when you lose your next life. The score stops ticking up if you pass two docks without rescuing someone. Rescue is a bit twitchy and perhaps too hard for most people. If you play this again try getting further right when the helicopter comes on to shoot the mines. Thanks to McKongs effeorts we learned about the bonus 5k for getting 9 across in one go and the special bonus of docking after the boat has been upgraded (after 6 men). Rat is just mindless fun, though you do have some decision making options e.g. take just the jumps in the middle section (avoiding piers), only jumps on first level, first life etc. Hang on for the special bonus at the end of race 4, I did once get to round 13(!) I think and there might be more bonuses every 4 levels. final tablesBoth games are full HSC points!
