TXG/MNX
Hi, I was using ACTION! and the ROM works but I can do CONTROL+SHIFT+R but cannot do CONTROL+SHIFT+W it doesn't work. Anybody got Action! working in the emulator??
Nukey Shay
It's not the emulator, PEEK(764) correctly reports that key combo as 238 (?)
TXG/MNX
Why doesn't the emulator translate ctrl+shift+r alright and ctrl+shift+w not then?
TXG/MNX
it seems that I can't remap all the keys on the ibm keyboard aswell just a few.....
Nukey Shay
I dunno. Did you try using another dump of Action? It should be up at both Matrix and Spudster ftp's
TXG/MNX
I did found out I could remap the ctrl+shift+w under the ` key and this works but I still don't know why other ctrl+shift functions are accepted like ctrl+shif+M also works... seems the emulator blocks certain key sequences... or it's a windows issue... TXG/MNX
Are there other emulators that support the ACTION! cartridge?
Nukey Shay
Since the cartridge is a straight .bin file, all of them should. http://www.zophar.net/a5200.html Try using Xformer or Xformer2000 with it

Straight bin file? ACTION! is an OSS switch banked cartridge. Which has 4Kb of rom and 3x4Kb bank switched. Xformer can't handle it....

TXG/MNX
Bummer At least you have a work-around solution I thought so but some other keyboard functions also are not working Is there an ACTION! cross-compiler for 8-bit?
atarimac
Atari800MacX supports the Action cartridge just fine. There's only one problem......you'll have to buy a Macintosh, instead of your Windows machine (but that has othter advantages .....). In all seriousness (I'll stop my Winblows bashing for a minute ), you might try the WIN32 compile of the Atari800 emulator from http://atari800.sourceforge.net. It's the emulator that Atari800WinPlus is based on, (as well as mine), but Atari800WinPlus hasn't been updated in a little while. One thing that won't work properly with that emulator (or Atari800WinPlus), is state saves. I have a version that works on the Mac emulator, but I need to get time to feed it to the Atari800 team so they can incorporate it. Mark
TXG/MNX
Yes this emulator seems to work good with the action cartridge only no R: handler support. But I already mailed the people to ask for it. TXG/MNX
TXG/MNX
Is this Atari800 still under development? Is the mailing-list still active? When I connect an .ATR file to D1: it's in state I think this means Read-only how can I change it to ?? Any manual somewhere for this emulator?? atarimac
Yes, it is still under development. There haven't been any changes in the last 2 months, but the mailing list is still active. It's what I base my emulator and also Atari800WinPlus is developed off of. In fact this emulator, has some features that WinPlus doesn't, such as cycle exact timing. (The last I saw, someone on comp.sys.atari.8bit said that it might be quite a while before WinPlus gets updated again....I don't know the author ,so can't say. You might try the full source download for the emulator, as there are some files in the Doc directory that might help. There isn't a comprehensive manual that I know of. To answer your R/W question, you use the space key to toggle between read only and R/W. Mark
