DoTheMath
Hi tech side. I have a karaoke shop near me. It's selling a brand new "Sharp" branded 50cm crt for 70 euros if i pay cash. Should i bite? Edited August 1, 2017 by DoTheMath
Thomas Jentzsch
I doubt they produce good CRT anymore. Better buy a used Sony Trinitron for much less (or get it even for free).
DoTheMath
Thanks. I don't know where i could find that in Paris for cheap tho. Will these have a long life span without repair? Edited August 1, 2017 by DoTheMath
Thomas Jentzsch
In Germany we have eBay-Kleinanzeigen (petite annonce). I can't find this for France, but e.g. leboncoin.fr (and several others). My Sony Trinitron lasted for 20 years with intensive use (the Trinitrons have a hidden service mode, where you can look up their runtime, the codes can be found in the net). And in the end it seemed repairable, but I finally wanted a LCD. Edited August 1, 2017 by Thomas Jentzsch
Good_Times
Yeah, I dunno....unless the scene is drastically different over there, I'd not pay more than a few bucks for a CRT. The Goodwills here are overflowing with them, and you can even find them frequently on the curbs during trash day. (shrug)
