Yars' Return Flicker

Hi!

 

I was wondering why Yars Return has so much flicker on stella? It doesn't look bad on my flashback portable, but it's awful on my tv screen. Is there a way to get a flicker free version?

If you're using the latest version of Stella (5.0 or above), you can go to Options -> Video Settings -> TV Effects and then for 'TV Phosphor Default' select a larger number. I believe 50 is the default; maybe try 70 or so.

Which version of Yar's Return do you have? None have ever been released officially.

 

I assume you have the version done for the Flashback2. That one flickered badly and had Sprite ghosting issues. The one on the Flashback Portable is not the same.
