+Adam+
On August 11th-13th the third edition of Ironia party took place in Wysoka, Poland. There was also a game competition organised with very interesting entries:1. Tensor Trzaskowskiego ("Trzaskowski's Tensor") - 175 points Very nice logical game. Our protagonist is a scientist, Mr. Trzaskowski, who visits the caves of Jupiter in search of "mystical X4 Almonds". We have to collect all of them. That "tensor" is a tool which allows us to change the direction of gravity (left/right + FIRE).Code: "mgr inż. Rafał" (Rafał Chabowski)Graphics and level design: "Vidol" (Kamil Walaszek)Music: Makary Brauner You can download the game for example from here.
+Adam+
Second place:2. Pac-Mad - 164 pointsA Pac-Man clone written in Mad-Pascal: some new shapes of levels, vertical scrolling, etc. After each game there is DataMatrix picture displayed, which allows to send the score to High Score Cafe site via a smartphone. Code and graphics: Wojciech "Bocianu" BociańskiMusic: LiSU The file can be downloaded from here. The level editor can be found here. +Adam+
3. Piekiełeczko ("Very little hell" in Polish) - 129 points The game refers to "Piekiełko" (from 1992), which title means "Little hell". In a similar way as in that earlier title, it's a pixel perfect game and requires a lot of precision from the player. Code, graphics: "Koala" (Marek Ogłodek)Music: "AceMan" (Jakub Szeląg) You can download the game from here. Finally, there was also Sikor's entry in the competition (which took 4th place), but he hasn't published his game yet. +Philsan
Thank you Adam. Yesterday I tested Piekiełeczko and coincidentally this morning I played with Piekielko. I noticed the similar gameplay but didn't notice they have a similar name.

+Adam+
sad why they did not entered ABBUC contest? Why "sad"? It's just a decision of the creators. For many Atarians in Poland local parties are more important than ABBUC contest.

+skr
I totally do not understand Tensor Trzaskowskiego, but made it to Level 10 anyway. Will check at Fujiama if one can explain to me how to play it right.
Marius
Is the first game also playable when you are not known with Polish language? What fabulous to see that there are new games again for little atari. I love this computer, and with new games it keeps alive. Thanks. Thanks a lot to poster and authors of games. You keep the scene and the a8 alive.

Knowledge of Polish language has no impact on playability, The peculiar names of the caves are fun to read, that's all

popmilo
Another video from "Tensor Trzaskowskiego" gameplay - this time made by someone who knows well how to play this game That blocky colorfull char mode reminds me so much of some of the best games from Speccy... I can imagine so many cool new games made with this "neglected" char mode of A8... 4 colors is not much, but because it has such a low memory footprint it's extra fast and easy to work with. Think I see new project starting
Sikor
Kobieta zmienna jest, czyli Ironia losu Find differences on pictures. Games fully written in Turbo Basic XL by me and Pinokio (we want write it on Basic XE, for extendent RAM, but many bugs in B XE was greater than our qualify). O.K. Some manual: - ATR is in MyDOS 130KB format - START key on title screen - use joystick in port one - lower line: BABA (engl. Girl) - picture number (actually 5), ILE (engl. HOW MANY) - amount of differences, CZAS (engl. TIME) -when reach 2000 we lost our chances, SZANS (engl. CHANCE?) - how many tries we have... - click on any half picture on difference - checked differences was signes as no difference, so - you must remember your choice Probably game has some bug, but it is party version and I don't make after party version. If you like games like this - please, write comment. Maybe I write optimazed version of this game with more gfx and other title. In this stage in game we can use up to six differences - see code. The very low3 usage in CPU, RAM ... allows to keep it in some corner of the working RAM, to create FX transitions, special 3D FX and so on.... Thanks for the coder to do the game that way

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the mode you showed us in that Basicdemo ? The only problem is "only" 4 colors .... popmilo
+1 for background - biggest drawback IMHO is 64 usable char limit... As long as it's enough for a whole row it's ok for me. 64 chars is enough for unique gfx in three char rows. So we only need around 4 charsets for full screen. PMs in quad width can cover full width so we get one more color to make gfx even nicer... Far from C64 or Spectrum color attributes color freedom but as the "Tensor Trzaskowskiego" shows it's extra good for puzzle games or similar. 3
