+MrFish
We have these types of manual covers for the 400 and 800. And we have these types of manual covers for peripherals. Did Atari ever produce manual covers for the 400 and 800 computers in the style shown here for the peripherals?
+MrFish
OK, it looks like I've found the 800 (and 400) in that style -- but not exactly as I was expecting. I was hoping it would just show the computer itself, but it looks like marketing needed some happy people gathering around.
+MrFish
So, I guess the question from here is: has anyone scanned these earlier versions of the 400 and 800 manuals? If not, does anyone own any that they would have an interest in scanning? I'm not sure there'd be any differences in the contents, but I definitely prefer these covers with the watercolor artwork (family fun time or not...). It's a color so I have to do it a page at a time instead of using my my document feeder. It makes streaks when I use it to scan color docs. I will put it on the top of my scanning pile. It resembles more the prototype version that Kevin posted last year. https://archive.org/details/Atari800OperatorsManualFirstVersion1979 Allan

Good stuff; I love that watercolor artwork from Atari. Edited August 24, 2017 by MrFish
+MrFish
I'm partly interested because I'm still scoping a logo for the new hardware site I'm working on.
+Allan
I just finished scanning it and up-loading it now. If you see a page you want a high-res scan of let me know. http://www.atarimania.com/documents/Atari_800_Operators_Manual_rev_2.pdf Allan
+MrFish
Manual looks great. I appreciate you taking the time to work on it.
+Allan
The copy I scanned has a little wear but not too bad. I still need to get the 400 version which B&C has. Allan
+MrFish
I mean the scans came out great. The manual is in good condition, especially for being as old as it is. Pages are kinda yellowed; I could remove the yellowing. I kinda like how the yellowing looks on this one, though; makes it look "vintage".
