Level42
Does anybody know if there were ever any Level 42 POKEY tunes done ? I happen to stumble onthis.....the second song looks to be done by Jeroen Tel and is inspired on Level 42's Running In The Family....at least it has the main riff. But it a SID tune... I seem to remember a Level 42 song done on the ST, maybe sampled ? Edited September 10, 2017 by Level42

Rybags
What is this? A real SID chip interfaced to the Atari? There seems to be too much screen activity for it to be the software emulation.
Level42
Huh, no its 100% software, been around for some time now.... Which once again shows which was the better machine SID can NEVER emulate POKEY because it lacks one channel :) http://atariage.com/forums/topic/55763-sid-player-beta-version/ . I know, POKEY music is totally underused. But the C64 can easily do POKEY tunes, even if they sound muffled then. While C64 only needs to sample one channel, the SID emulation on the Atari eats all ressources. That's why I always showed and suggested to use POKEY's timing and modulation "side features". I'm pretty sure, the Atari could replay all SID stuff with less than 30% CPU usage then... Here some "workarounds" using the available software ... You know, better software will show even better result...
Level42
Ah OK didn't know that. Bu then again: SID music on POKEY sounds better. POKEY music on POKEY sounds better....the winner is....

emkay
AWSOME ! Any way to play it on real hardware ? Normally I prefer the video , as they show the version "as is" . While on different setups the result could vary. Particular when it comes to the global volume ...
