Albert
Can you take a screenshot? I assume this is something your Android tablet is doing and has nothing to do at all with the forum? ..Al
+Cafeman
Typical - it is not doing it now so I can't take a picture. Maybe it is just something with my Galaxy Tab's Chrome, but it just started to occur, and only on the AtariAge forums, so I thought I'd mention it as an FYI. I did not do the suggestion below but the error message still isn't happening right now. Weird. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/chrome/sC65UE22_4w/S1i6S6H1AAAJ You can do this to disable it: - Navigate to chrome://flags - Search for text "Reader Mode" - Change the setting of "Reader Mode triggering" to "Never"
RevEng
It's a chrome on android thing... google thinks the AA page you're on isn't optimal for mobile, for some reason.
+Cafeman
Ok. I'll ignore it. I clicked on the pop-up and it didn't really work. Not that anything needs to be done, the formatting still appears 100% okay and is the Mobile version, not the "full version" that I use for PC web browsing. Albert
The new version of the forum software, which I hope to move the forum to early next year, has much better mobile support. It doesn't use a separate (and poorer, functionality-wise) skin like the current software, but has a responsive skin that works great on phones and tablets. ..Al
Skippy B. Coyote
I've been getting the same "Make page mobile-friendly" pop up on my 2013 Google Nexus 7 tablet all the time on AtariAge lately. Seems like it just started a week or two ago. Edited October 10, 2017 by Jin
Albert
Nothing has changed on the forum, so this is just Google. ..Al
Skippy B. Coyote
Good to know Albert, hopefully Google sorts out whatever has gone screwy in their website format detection software. It seems to only happen on the main forum directory page for me. Here's a screenshot for reference: And if I click the pop up at the bottom of the screen I get: Edited October 10, 2017 by Jin
privateers69
At the bottom of the forums, there's a label called themes I believe. Click on it and choose mobile Edited October 10, 2017 by privateers69
Albert
Ahh, yes, it's showing you the full desktop page by default. I wonder if these Android devices are no longer reporting mobile browsers, so sites will show the full-on website. Their attempt to make a "mobile-friendly" site looks to have completely failed. Definitely try the "Mobile" version of the theme. Again, just click the "Change Theme" link at the bottom of the page and choose "Mobile". You can also try Tapatalk. It has some issues, but it's a great way to navigate the site on a phone or tablet. Just remember that it generates an error when you post a new topic, even though the topic was indeed posted. So, don't keep retrying or you'll end up with multiple copies of the same topic that we then have to clean up. Hopefully this will be fixed with the newest version of the forum software. ..Al
gauauu
Well this is bizarre. Today I clicked the "make mobile friendly" button on my Android and got this unpleasant screen. Any idea wherethis is coming from?

The Mr. Video
I got so fed up with the "Make page mobile friendly" message that I managed to somehow turn it off. Forgot how I did it though.

Actually I think it *is* the full version formatting, and on my 10 inch Tablet screen I prefer it over the mobile version. Not sure why just recently the popup started to hound me, but I have been ignoring it. Just a clarification.

The Mobile theme is certainly lacking and somewhat inconsistent. EG "Like" a post option, but no way to see them! (Which as a social media function you might expect should be highly geared toward Mobile users)
