82-T/A
Personal opinion, not really answering your question. I like all those systems, and I've had a few of the ones you mention. But unless you owned them as a child, they're only moderately fun to play with for a short period if time, and then you get over it. I'd save my cash and go with an AtariBox! haha... Sapicco
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I have decided that over time, i may end up with all of them, but I want the Arcadia most. The problem is I don't know where to find one that's proven to be in good working condition and I can hook it up to a modern tv. If anyone is selling one, hit me up. But I will likely pull the trigger on whichever I can find a good deal on first and compatible with a modern tv. I found a few arcadias and Astrocade but I don't know how I would hook them up. They just have those old swtichboxes that I don't know how to hook up. @82-TA, I bet you are right, but I have a couple hundy burning a hole in my pocket and decided it's going towards a vi rage system. carlsson
To hook up an Arcadia 2001 (or pretty most any really old console) to a modern TV, I would try an A/V mod. There are some instructions here, with a YouTube link how to do it. You would need some soldering experience at the very least, unless you can get someone to do it for you. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/202389-are-there-any-arcadia-2001-av-output-mods/
HoshiChiri
I found a few arcadias and Astrocade but I don't know how I would hook them up. If that's the case, you can usually find an adapter that'll do ya- I have no idea what the connector on an Arcadia/Astrocade looks like, but if it's the standard F plug, this'll do ya. Just don't buy that one, you can find a better price if you look a bit more than I did. If it's a proprietary connection and you have to use a box with an old twin lead connection, get one of these instead. Same deal as before, look around for a better price. Keep in mind with both of these, the picture is going to SUCK. It's putting the regular ol' 70s signal straight into a modern TV with zero upscaling or cleanup. If you've got the skills or know some who does, the A/V mod will be worlds better- but at least this way, if not, you can at least play.
