Mclaneinc
Spelunker was just a relief to finish, so fidgety but so nice to say "I beat that"... Its one of those I still play to this day...(Nes version the best tho)
+slx
Spelunker was just a relief to finish, so fidgety but so nice to say "I beat that"... Its one of those I still play to this day...(Nes version the best tho) Always loved that game although I lack either the time or the dexterity or both to finish it these days. Tried for HSC but didn't make it past the Volcano despite dozens of tries. Only time I ever finished it was in the mid-90s.
Mclaneinc
Ha ha...I lack just about every thing to finish it now, I still give it a bash just for old times sake but I tend to mutter very rude words when I've fallen off that ladder for the 5th time Still great fun just to make it anywhere in the game... +David_P
Floyd the Droid being repaired at the end of Planetfall. Almost makes up for: You drop to your knees and cradle Floyd's head in your lap. Floyd looks up at his friend with half-open eyes. 'Floyd did it ... got card. Floyd a good friend, huh?' Quietly, you sing Floyd's favorite song, the Ballad of the Starcrossed Miner: O, they ruled the solar systemNear ten thousand years beforeIn their single starcrossed scout shipsMining ast'roids, spinning lore. Then one true courageous minerSpied a spaceship from the starsBoarded he that alien linerOut beyond the orb of Mars. Yes, that ship was filled with dangerMighty monsters barred his wayYet he solved the alien myst'riesMining quite a lode that day. O, they ruled the solar systemNear ten thousand years before'Til one brave advent'rous spiritBrought that mighty ship to shore. As you finish the last verse, Floyd smiles with contentment, and then his eyes close as his head rolls to one side. You sit in silence for a moment, in memory of a brave friend who gave his life so that you might live.
Mr.Bacardi
I finished "Null Grad Nord" recently and was pleased by a treasure chest with a nice game ending music by KE Soft. See min 18:00: @JAC Btw, I couldn't find the music in ASAM archive...

Irgendwer
A "Damsel in Distress"-like ending is always "satisfying" 😁: No matching screen shots found: * Storm * Ziggy * Pirates of the Barbary Coast * Lapis Philosophorum - Der Stein der Weisen (very funny!) Please add! Edited January 11 by Irgendwer

I've saved that little printout for over thirty years, lol. Pretty sure when I first beat this there was a bug that meant this wasn't shown... could have been the tape version... I not going to check 🤣

Oh yes, love that it had no instructions! 😆 It probably took a couple of months overall seeing as you needed to work out who needs what and find a route where you don't run out of time, well designed game. Shame we didn't get part 2.
rdefabri
I would say Karateka and Dallas Quest for me. I did complete a few long games, including Ali Baba and Return of Heracles, but the first two were reasonably satisfying game endings.

I fixed my copy, gave it to a dude I was hanging out with at the time, and then showed him the trick... he freaked out and told me to change it back because his mom would only let him play down to underwear. Bobo Cujo
N.Y.C The Big Apple (Synapse) - upon getting the key to the city, you're seemingly treated to the same ending screen with King Kong on top of the Empire State building... who then gets promptly knocked down by an airplane with a "WINNER" banner. One of the simplest, yet most satisfying endings I've seen in a video game (let alone an Atari Computer game), and great revenge on all the game overs it takes to get there...
