Believe it or not I prefer the controls in handheld mode. I found it much easier to hit enemies. Probably because of the smaller and tighter joycon sticks. I ran into the same issue with the RC car racing in Mario Odyysey. I consistently got lower lap times in handheld mode because the controls are so much tighter.

 

I almost exclusively play Doom in handheld, mostly to keep my kids from having (more) nightmares, but I tried on the TV one night after bed and I had a lot of trouble aiming and I found the visual pretty off-putting in comparison. I normally prefer the controller and docked but for Doom I imagine I'll beat it in handheld.

Need some advice. I'm having trouble with the second phase of the Cyber Demon battle. The thing is, I'm wondering since I didn't collect most secrets and haven't completed any Ruin challenges (I thought I'd do thorough job, the second time through the game) if it would be best to start over and make sure to complete everything....if that would help to be more prepared for this stage of the game? Thanks in advance.

Never mind. Finally defeated the thing. Glad that's over.

I ordered this today. This will be my first experience with the new Doom as I do not own any other consoles or a PC capable of running it. Amazing what they were able to do with the switch. I am looking forward to it!
