AMenard
Hi, I've been setting up my own little retro computer lab recently an in the process acquired a beige TI99 in working condition. Like I did with my Apple IIe, atari 130xe and C128, I would like to acqire a few modern devices to make using these computer more efficient. I know about the nanoPEB, the CF7+ And the side 32k expansion that ArcadeShopper advertise, but none of them seems to be available. I'm still looking for a full size PEB but they're rare in my neck of the wood and most who are selling them charge sometime more than the PEB for shipping. Since I want to code in assembly and in XB I will need that 32k exp and also something to save to. Anybody knows of another source or group to buy those expansions? Keep watching ebay and arcadeshopper. The NanoPEB comes available from time to time. Also follow the TIPi topic in the development area HERE Of course you will need a 32k sidecar to get the expanded memory. The TiPi is going to be a must have device when it's released. What is your neck of the woods? I have a spare P-Box in great working condition, looks good, disk drive, controller and 32K. I have ZERO interest in shipping, but I'd do local pickup for $100.00 even to someone in need and not just looking to flip it for a profit. wodge67
Dont forget the FinalGROM99 https://endlos99.github.io/finalgrom99/ I am in the UK and Ti99 stuff is pretty rare here. The home computer market was so cut throat in the 80's that there was very little apart from Cartridges and Cassettes sold. The original cost of a PEB was so high in the UK i dont think there were many sold or now survive. My next upgrades are likely to be new 32K and TiPi sidecars. When they are available.. i hope

Province of Quebec as stated below my avatar pic. This also explain why the peb is hard to come by since it wasn't really popular up here.

This is my first priority.
AMenard
I've writen to arcadeshopper asking if there's a waiting list or a way to be informed when they get back in stock. In the mean while I'm watching ebay for any good deal on a classic peb or a modern one.

AMenard
The PEB should ship this thursday. I should receive it by next week depending on Canada Post. I'm like a child waiting for Santa :-) I was wondering... Has anyone ever developped some new or reinvented cards for the PEB? I know someone made an interface to put the Speech Synth inside the PEB, but what about a CF/IDE type interface or other devices? I think the Tipi will be available as a PEB card, no? My next holy grail will be the PHP-1270 and UCSD Pascal. But that is only once I learned ASM and Forth. So in a few years LOL!
+Ksarul
There are more PEB boards out there than you might imagine, although a lot of them are difficult to find now. There is a SASI controller (the Myarc personality card, very rare); an MFM hard disk controller (The Myarc HFDC, relatively hard to find); an IDE controller (Nouspikel IDE, hard to find at the moment, but I am busy slowly reimagining it with through hole components); two different SCSI controllers (one from WHT and one from SNUG, both somewhat hard to find). There is a handful of double density disk controller cards (from CorComp, Myarc, Atronic, SNUG, and even TI), lots of memory cards (including a 1MB SAMS card that is still available--or better said, it will be as soon as I get my next batch of boards in), and all kinds of really odd but useful cards, like the MBP Clock board that also has analog I/O lines; the IEE-488 card, the aforementioned speech board for the PEB (there are actually two choices here, as the CorComp Triple Tech board will do this too); and all kinds of RAM Disk boards.

RXB
It would be great if someone would make a HDX or whatever that has SAMS 1 Meg or more memory. No one even makes as small as 32K chips anymore anywhere.

I'm not in the market for either myself, but *IF* I was still in P-Box goodies acquisition mode, I'd rather the memory card be part of a flex card (fire hose) replacement as it would be of use to a larger audience.

I do have real Iron but use emulation as it does not have BREAK DOWN ISSUES and I am not a hardware guy that can repair on the spot. I only suggest this as I have noticed a trend that what ever hardware is made you see it in emulation later...so that would benefit BOTH SIDES! AMenard
I was wondering... Does anybody have a BOM of the part needed to refurbish the PEB PSU? After more than 30 years at least the electrolytic caps needs replacing. Same goes for the 99. The 99 PSU can be replaced by a PC PSU according to http://www.mainbyte.com/ti99/hardware/power_supply.html but isn't the console regulators expecting +16V?
