thegamezmaster
Hello, does anyone that has any thoughts on what is the best wireless controller to buy for the system? Any good or bad? Would like to hear from people that have used them and which one is the best to buy? Appreciate anyone's thoughts or input on this. Just want to get the best ones. Also curious which ones use batteries or rechargeable ones. Thanks to anyone that can help me with this!
keepdreamin
I use the 8Bitdo SFC30 (SNES30 if you want the US style purple buttons) on the actual SNES, so I'd recommend one of those and the receiver they make for the Nintendo classic editions. With that receiver, you could also use other bluetooth controllers like the Wii U classic for the home button. Does everything feel like a regular snes pad? What does it use for batteries? Thanks again!
keepdreamin
It feels well made, close enough to the real SNES controllers. Battery is rechargeable via USB cable. Here's the amazon link, feel free to read the user reviews https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Bluetooth-Controller-Classic-Joystick-Android/dp/B014QP2H1E/ This is the BlueTooth receiver you'd need with it. https://www.amazon.com/8Bitdo-Retro-Receiver-Classic-Bluetooth/dp/B076D21CGS/ Edited January 1, 2018 by keepdreamin

keepdreamin
So do you have buy the controller and the receiver seperately? Kinda confused. Yes. The controller is just a generic bluetooth controller, it wasn't made specifically for the SNES classic. It works with PCs, MACs, raspberry Pis, their receiver for the original SNES etc... You'll need to purchase them separately.
thegamezmaster
Thanks for clearing that up for me and all the help!
Atariboy
8Bitdo makes a controller specifically for the SNES Classic. It's only $25 and includes the necessary receiver. http://www.8bitdo.com/sn30-sf30-2_4g-for-snes-and-sfc-classic-edition/ Beats paying over $50, assuming you're only looking for a SNES Classic wireless controller. This can only wirelessly connect to a NES/SNES Classic or via USB connection, to other platforms like Windows PC's and various mobile platforms. If you want more versatility like the ability to use it on original SNES hardware, you'll have to pay the premium and go with the previously linked to products. +Black_Tiger
According to this site it works great: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/09/hardware_review_wireless_fighting_commander_for_snes_classic_by_hori I got one for X-Mas instead of the original Super Famicom wired pad I actually wanted. Everything about it feels good by modern controller standards, but I don't have a SNES Classic to test it on. Hopefully it will work fine on Wii remotes. Tartfox
I can vouch for the Nyoko 'Super Miniboss' wireless controllers. I bought two as Christmas presents for family and I tested them myself. They work well and feel good/comfortable in the hands. You can either get one on their official website (link below), or try ebay- https://nyko.com/products/super-miniboss-for-snes-classic-edition Edited January 6, 2018 by Tartfox
