Forgive my ignorance on this, I can solder from a diagram no sweat but the actual laws/theory of electronics are not something I know a lot about. I can learn all about everything electric by reading a big book and taking some courses, or I can (as usual) learn just enough to answer my Q from the more knowledgeable folks here. So, help please. I've used an adapter to play on the 7800 with a PS2 dual shock 2 controller or Mad Catz PS2 racing wheel with led meters on it. This is the one I have: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-CD32-C64-Atari-playstation-adapter-PSX-joypad-joystick-interface/222790422339 It is for Amiga and I believe you need to use a Seagull 78 adapter with it to get left button from pin 6 to pin 5 for the 7800. Here is the manual: http://kipper2k.com/psx/PSX-Adapter.pdf I can use it with the wireless PS2 controllers as well. I like the Pelican Predator 2.4 GHz Wireless Controller one. There are good reviews on the Logitech wireless action controller for PS2 as well, but also reviews that it is often DOA out of the box, which is what I experienced when I bought one. Is it possible to make one of these where the 5V power and ground for the adapter itself and its power to the controller come from two external leads, so it can be used on a Colecovision, which lacks true VCC and ground - thus, powered like the ColecoVision Expansion Module #2 driving controller or the Roller Controller? I would power it with three C batteries or a 5V 500mA PSU. People only want what they can not have it seems. I liked the idea of it but after buying 4 or six controllers right before hand and not owning a ps controller I just could not offer any money for it. Maybe a rechargable battery in the dual shock adapter? I am starting to think a stick now. It does not really matter it is cool the way it is. Well...guess it's time to figure out how to use the multimeter that came with my soldering kit. I have absolutely no idea how to use one to relate wires to pins. What I usually do is wrap a small piece of wire to one prod and stick the wire into the wire port, then go down the line of wires until I hear a beep. My next question involves choosing an appropriate light...my plan is to use plexiglass front on my project boxes with a logo on them and I intend to light the case from the inside to kind of backlight it (I'm wiring it up very neatly inside so it will look good, hopefully). With a 5v line, what do I need to be looking at specwise so far as choosing one? Any good sources for this stuff?
