omf
will this work on a PAL machine?
citrus3000psi
will this work on a PAL machine? I've never tried it in a Pal System. The PAL TMS9929 has color bursts which should make my board not supported. However I have design a PAL variant based off this: https://hackaday.io/project/13056-tms9929a-rgb-and-component-adapter This board is 100% untested: https://oshpark.com/shared_projects/ogorMaoU

Bmack36
I just ordered more boards yesterday because the first run I did are almost gone. Have you found that you needed the pots, or did the colors look fine with just the jumpers.
mobiusstriptech
I am building them with the pots right now. I plan to investigate the the values as I have more consoles to test with but all of the boards I have built so far are being sent to others that wanted a DIY. I do intend to see if there is a happy medium value that citrus3000psi can change the boards to use or with his permission I can change them, if I find a magic value.
citrus3000psi
The pots have been different for all the boards I've done. I think its related to power supplies etc for each console. @mobiusstriptech, on the latest revision on my oshpark, there is a jumper so you can bypass the pot and drop a straight resistor in.
mobiusstriptech
Yeah those are the ones I am building right now. I just meant if there was some sort of sweet spot we could remove the pot and jumpers all together. Either way, I and many others thank you for bringing this to everyone.
+grips03
You guys are all hand soldering?
mobiusstriptech
Right now I am building them by hand. If I do a large batch I am going to look at having them assembled.

omf
Great let me know, if it works for you i beleive that ordering the boards will only deliver the board, the components will need to be obtained and soldered on. what size of surface mount components need to be purchased to go on those boards? i will be populating the boards gaztee has purchased so need to know what i need to order for the parts. mobiusstriptech
Correct the boards are blank. Component sizes are 0603.
citrus3000psi
I just updated the oshpark link with sizes and some digikey part numbers for the not so obvious parts. https://oshpark.com/projects/ogorMaoU Edited March 8, 2018 by citrus3000psi
mobiusstriptech
I will have a couple more boards available shortly. Just need to assemble. I am trying to gauge interest overall on these. If there is enough interest I will do a large run. So if you are looking to buy a board or get one installed please let me know.
+grips03
Looking to buy one board. It would be great if it had the POTs on it.
mobiusstriptech
I am fully assembling the boards so they do have the pots. It's a drop in and go operation.
mobiusstriptech
This morning I submitted for a large production order. Hopefully it will be enough to meet the demand. Thank you to everyone who messaged me to let me know you were interested. None of this would be possible without the hard work of citrus3000psi. I am not making any changes to the boards or even the silkscreen. My whole goal here is to help get these out to the people who want them. If you want to assemble them yourself and don't want to purchase one pre-assembled, that is totally fine as well. Just remember the components are 0603 so it does require some skill to assemble by hand.

mobiusstriptech
Boards are assembled and ready to go. This is the last small batch. Likely will not last long. If you want one shoot me a message. After these the large production batch will hopefully be enough to cover everyone else that wants one.
5l4k3r
Finally got around to installing the one I got from mobiusstriptech's first batch. Colecovision looks GREAT! Thanks to both citrus3000psi and Mobiusstriptech!
mobiusstriptech
Awesome! So far everyone from the first batch has said they have had great results. Eventually I will keep one of these for myself. I definitely have to give huge thanks to citrus3000psi. Without him this wouldn't be possible.
