DavidMil
Is it just me or are through hole components getting harder to find? I was looking for a 6800pF 25V axial cap the other day after both Best and MyAtari said they didn't have any, and I finally found some on TEDSS.com (well it was 20V, but that's good enough for an 8 bit Atari). Now I'm still puckered because they are listed for $9.68 EACH! I've looked at Mouser, and Digikey and Jameco, and all the other usual places without any luck. Anyone know of any surplus stores that might have something like this before I drain my retirement account for some caps? Thanks, DavidMil
SignGuy81
I just searched ebay and found these(2 pack) https://www.ebay.com/itm/WEST-CAP-AXIAL-FILM-CAPACITOR-6800pF-50v-CQ09A1PA682K3-0068uF-Audio-Mil-2pcs/201550931707?hash=item2eed5f26fb:g:pbkAAOSw9uFW-dyU Could probably find more cheaper if I dug a little deaper. Here is a better deal(5 pieces) https://www.ebay.com/itm/WEST-CAP-AXIAL-FILM-CAPACITOR-6800pF-50v-CQ09A1PA682K3-0068uF-Audio-Mil-5pcs/201550931687?hash=item2eed5f26e7:g:3lAAAOSwGYVW-dyR Edited February 19, 2018 by SignGuy81
adam242
I don't see the exact item you're looking for on their website, but All Electronics is still a cool company to keep in mind. They often have interesting surplus items.
+Spaced Cowboy
There seem to be 66 options at Digikey that are in-stock starting at about $0.21 quantity-1 ... Assuming that you're not averse to a >25v capacitor... Edited February 19, 2018 by Spaced Cowboy
+DrVenkman
Mouser has thousands of them in stock, in both 100V and 200V ratings. Either of those would be fine for a vintage electronics application.
Gunstar
All my 16V caps in my 1200XL were replaced with 32V, because that's all Radio Shack had at the time. Now the whole store is Out Of Stock(business). Overkill in volts handled by a cap isn't an issue, but I'd have to take a close look at the circuit and it's purpose before I'd replace with caps of less voltage, like 20V instead of 25V, making sure the 25V cap was more than needed in the first place.
