bmccord
I have an Atari 2600 that works very well. I also have a copy of Superman. When I play the Superman cartridge, after flying down and becoming Clark Kent and moving to the right, the screen switches to black and white. At first I thought that it was a bad cartridge, but I have tried two different cartridges and the same thing happens on both of them. I have also tried the cartridge in another machine and this doesn't happen. Furthermore, the color returns sporadically as you play and then goes back to black and white. Superman is the only game this happens on. My other 50+ cartridges seem to work fine and I haven't seen this problem on those. The system has had a capacitor replacement about 4 months ago. I would love to hear ideas about this problem! Thanks!
+-^CrossBow^-
Bad TIA maybe or one about to go out? Does the color flicker when it does this or just suddenly you have color on one screen and then *poof* no color on the next, and you can go back and forth between them to have color or no do this? bmccord
It happens in the middle of the screen, but it is really consistent. When the game starts, it's color. When you fly down to the phone booth, as soon as you touch the phone booth, it goes black and white. When you fly from screen to screen, some screens are color, others are black and white. And it seems to be determined by the screen. In other words, if a screen is color, it is always color, but it if it black and white, it's always black and white.
