Me, being lazy.... I went to chatGPT and asked where I could get an online OCR to convert to text. Then I did that and took the output text and asked chatCPT to convert the hex to ascii for me. Wasn't perfect, but good enough to get the whole message. Took around 2 minutes all-up. Thank you AI.

Excellent use of AI! Good use of the saying work smarter, not harder. 🙂

My Shirt arrived today well - great quality very happy with it. I would recommend ordering it one size larger - i‘m 1,86m high and usually take XL in size but ordered 2XL and it fits perfectly this way.

Nice! I'm pretty happy with the quality of the shirts as well. I've had no print degradation since ordering my first one from there, so they've been going strong for a few years now.

I would also recommend going one size up from normal or checking the size chart as they fit a little tight on me as well.

Looks like I forgot to post our photos from our visit to Player 1 Video Game Bar from our recent trip to Las Vegas for our 15th wedding anniversary!

As soon as I entered the place I knew that it was going to be a good barcade when I saw all the great tabletop games in the front area display case. I was eyeing the Q*Bert, Pengo and Dracula games but they were priced for people who just won a lot at the casino. ;-) Once inside I saw that the place was themed ceiling to floor with video game characters and packed with arcade and pinball games. They were also livestreaming a Mario Kart tournament, this place was incredible!

PXL_20230531_044949185.thumb.jpg.7db1542bb02a1b4e4badabfe1997af44.jpgPXL_20230531_045101148.thumb.jpg.2fc5e262733b802754f92562b8998f10.jpgPXL_20230531_045108052.thumb.jpg.0921f30f790766cfd2dfc978d0f14714.jpg PXL_20230531_055811712.thumb.jpg.5e59e11f94414fbf10853d6fa4aa1f59.jpg

Right inside the entrance was Dragon's Lair II that killed us over and over, luckily it was all-you-can-play for an astoundingly low price of $8 for all night! It was the cheapest entertainment in all of Las Vegas! I found Tanya gravitated almost immediately to one of her favourite arcade games, Satan's Hollow. Somehow I had never played Gorf in the arcade but @johnnywc's Atari 2600 port gave me enough practice that I was able to easily make it past the second flag ship on my first playthrough! Thanks John!

Whoah, check this out @darryl1970! They must have heard of your awesome 7800 ports and put Popeye and Pengo side by side!

Next up is another game I've somehow never played in the arcade, Elevator Action! Also played Tutanhkam, such a fun but VERY HARD GAME! I definitely need some more practice with that one, phew!

The barcade also had a TON of consoles and CRTs attached to the wall including ..... an Atari 2600 with a harmony cart! Never thought I'd see the Fred Quimby @batari and AtariAge's @Albert names in a barcade, super awesome! Sadly the 2600 and TV were not turned on. I tried to get it working but no matter what channel I set it to it just wouldn't show a picture. 😞 All the wiring was inaccessible so I couldn't do any troubleshooting to get it working again. The most I could do is take a picture of it, maybe next time...

There was also a Vectrex amongst the consoles, very impressive! It was also not on so I assumed it was broken as well.

BONUS PIC: A rare photo of Tanya playing Q*Bert in the arcade! She said it was much easier due to the 45 degree 4 way joystick that prevented mistakes in the jumping direction. 🙂

Great pics James!

That's awesome they had Gorf and playing Gorf Arcade helped with your playing ability. :)

Would have loved to play EA and Tutankham, both of which are on Champ's TO-DO list (well, EA is on our TO-FINISH list, by October)! :D  Satan's Hollow is a great game too that would also make for a great port. ;)  The Penogo/Popeye combo would have been fun to play - I haven't played either in an arcade in years.

Very cool they had a 2600 with a Harmony cart!  Too bad it didn't work though - you should have offered your services in exchange for some casino tokens or something. 💵

I haven't been to Vegas since the last CGE which I think was in 2009 or 2010, but if I'm ever in the area I'll be sure to check this place out. 👀 🕹️

That place looked great! Thanks for sharing.

I imagine those collectables are priced as, "I don't want to sell, but everything has its price." They definitely add to the atmosphere.

That is really cool that Popeye and Pengo happened to be next to each other!! :)

I bet Tanya can confess how ruthless the arcade Pengo is. You should both be a master at PentaGo after the beating that is the arcade version. :)

I was at the 2002 Vegas Expo. I didn't even know what AtariAge was at that time, but I have pictures. (I just thought new 5200 games was cool!) Funny how things go full circle...

As soon as I saw those two together, I knew I had to take a photo of them for you! So perfect!

Arcade Pengo is definitely a very good challenge, it kicked our asses!

Incredibly cool photo from .... wow, 21 years ago! That's some vintage AtariAge history right there!.

I was really surprised how long I survived playing the Gorf on the first try. I've always maintained that doing the show and playing all your and other devs amazing ports have contributed greatly to up my arcade game.

SO many great arcade games in one place, highly recommended just for the incredible selection! So many of my favourites there and so many others that have been ported or will soon to be ported to our favourite Atari consoles!

I was very tempted to start pulling things apart to investigate but I thought better of dismantling their displays, hahah.
