Greetings,

 

Sorry if this has been asked before.

 

Does anyone know how to disable the screen timeout on the Colecovision? I know there's a hack that eliminates the start-up screen but I have a need to disable the screen timeout so that the inserted game is always on/shown.

 

Wouldn't think it would be too hard to do and maybe someone has already.

 

Appreciate any help.

I don't understand, what time out you want disable? They are some bios hack that remove the 12s delay , or some that allow to skip it by pressing fire button. But it seems it is not what you want? you want also skip the skill level select screen?

Yeah, what's this "screen timeout" you're referring to? The ColecoVision has no such feature.

I believe he is thinking in the standard difficulty menu selection.

He meant the screen saver feature. If the machine is left on without anyone using the controller for a few minutes, the screen goes blank to prevent burn-in and I think prevent damage to VDP.

This might be the variable for the screen saver function.
