Fox-1 / mnx
What's a good way to convert S-Video (and CVBS) to analog RGB signals? I need an external solution without digital upscaler that works with stock XL's/XE's (PAL and NTSC).
1050
Cyprerss CP-VSRGB https://www.amazon.com/Composite-Video-Component-Format-Converter/dp/B01EK7YJJG TDA3330 http://pdf.datasheetcatalog.com/datasheets/228/499937_DS.pdf Pricey or complex job, doesn't seem to be a middle ground. Fox-1 / mnx
The CP-VSRGB seems to be very picky with it's input signal so I expect problems with the weird signals of the XL's. I read about the TDA3330 but examples from someone who actually did something with it are not around. I wonder if it even exists :-)
1050
I did a spot check on eBay because I had the same wonderings. 5 for $20 and $14 per each were just a couple of at least 5 sellers still selling them so yes they are out there. A website that used to have a schematic of such a circuit indicated that some of the inductors required might be difficult to procure but I didn't run down that road at all. Sounds like a real project no matter which road is taken. Breadboard set up is likely to be a very good antenna too, have you ever gotten the neighbors mad at you before? Well, as a former 1KWatt+ CB-er in a residential area... of course not :-) As there don't seem to be worthwhile alternatives I'm afraid I've no other option then using an upscaler to VGA/HDMI to feed an O.S.S.C. and just hope that it can handle the Atari signals.
