+Nezgar
This particular 1050 faceplate has finally lost all it's 'teeth' on all three groups after many years of openings... (and now need dentures haha) I managed to catch the last few bits when they broke off but even testors cement for plastic models was not strong enough. Any suggestions to secure the faceplate in this case? Was thinking maybe heating metal pins to push in...
Rybags
I don't think the plastic's thick enough to take screws or metal pins in that manner. Hot-snot glue guns are OK for some stuff but tend to lack precision and the strength of the join is somewhat less than superglue.
xrbrevin
you could try plastic welding? but you'd need to use the same type of plastic too ensure good adhesion ive used the dropcheck 3D printed fascia on a drive i got without one - it fits well enough but it is not entirely 100% accurate around the switch and LED
tjlazer
Try acetone to see if it can melt and bond it. It melts some plastics well. Edited April 26, 2018 by tjlazer
+Nezgar
I neglected to mention that i no longer have the tabs.. I might have 2 of them still in a baggie, but not enough to be effective. I thought this particular testors plastic cement had acetone (or MDF) as a component. Maybe another idea is to remove the remainder of the tabs entirely and put flat plastic tabs with lips... kinda like I've seen on some of the 3d print models of the 1050 faceplate. I'll see if i can find a pic
